Gourmet Evening Meals: We love food! And so, we love to cook. Paul in particular has a real talent for producing wonderful meals. Along with yummy breakfasts we offer a choice of gourmet or light evening meals. Gourmet choices include New Zealand Salmon and New Zealand Lamb. You can arrange dinner at breakfast or when booking your stay. If you've had a long, busy day exploring Northland, come home, relax, freshen up and enjoy complimentary wine before dinner with your Kiwi hosts.

Special Packages: If you’re planning your stay as part of a special occasion we can arrange those little extras for you. Maybe a mini cheese board in your fridge? Or a bottle of bubbles and some Makana chockies? Just let us know when you enquire and we’ll come up with some ideas.

Pre-Breakfast Walks: Paul enjoys a good walk and he would be happy to take you on a morning walk over one of the local walking tracks. These vary from gentle strolls to small treks. Meanwhile breakfast will be prepared so it's ready and waiting for you on your return.

Local Vegetables and Produce: We take pride in serving locally produced sauces, pickles, preserves and jams whenever possible. Barbara has studied organic horticulture and permaculture. Although still very much beginners we trie to grow some of our vegetables and fruit at Morepork Lodge. Others we buy at local road-side stalls or at the Bay of Islands Farmers Market (see below).

The Farmers' Market: A wonderful way to spend Sunday morning! The Farmers' Market is just 14 minutes north in the town of Kerikeri. The market has stalls with everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to hot crepes, freshly squeezed orange juice, & French sticks with Bratwurst & mustard (our favourite). Your trip to Kerikeri can also include a visit to the Stone Store and craft shops (see attractions page). Or perhaps even attendance at one of the local church services.

Transfers: If you are traveling by air, we are happy to arrange a transfer from the airport in Kerikeri. We can also provide transport to and from Paihia, especially if you are going on a tour for the day & don't want to leave your car there.

Internet etc: WiFi (Wireless Broadband) is installed so feel free to bring your Laptop. Otherwise, we may be able to make a computer available to you to send those all important emails home. A fax, scanner and copier is also available and we'd be happy to post off your ësnail mail'.
